Samsung today announced Galaxy Mini 2 and Galaxy Ace 2 just before Mobile World Congress 2012 begins next week. Both Galaxy Mini 2 and Galaxy Ace 2 are the successor devices of Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace. To continue with the nomenclature, Samsung decided to add Mini 2 and Ace 2 mobile phones to the Galaxy series.
As, both devices are successor model of the previous handsets so it has just been upgraded from their previous hardware build.
On the launch of Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 and Galaxy Ace 2, President of IT & Mobile Communication Division, JK ShinÂ at Samsung Electronics said:
“Launched in 2011, Galaxy Ace and Galaxy mini have been a huge success in the global market. Today, we introduce Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy mini 2 with upgraded features and services. Our goal remains the same-to continue to create new and improved mobile experiences that deliver something suitable for everyone. This is the hallmark of Samsung’s Galaxy range and what has made the Galaxy brand such a runaway hit with consumers around the world.”
Samsung GALAXY Mini 2:
Galaxy Mini 2 comes with 800MHz dual core processor, 3.27-inch (320×480) TFT Touchscreen display; it has 3.15 MP rear camera with LED flash and front facing VGA camera, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Offers connectivity features like GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, WLAN and NFC (optional) and microUSB v2.0 support.
It has a 512 MB RAM, supports Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot and HSDPA network at a download speed of 7.2 Mbps. It also has stereo FM radio with RDS and support sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity and Compass. Galaxy Mini 2 comes with 4 GB internal memory that can be expandable up to 32 GB with microSD. Samsung Mini 2 is packed with 1300mAh Li-on battery.
Samsung Galaxy ACE 2:
On the other hand, Samsung Ace 2 is also powered by 800MHz processor, has 3.8-inch (480×800) PLS TFT capacitive Touchscreen display, it has 5MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front facing camera offers video recording at 720p resolution.
Galaxy Ace 2 has 768MB RAM, supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot and offers 14.4Mbps of download speed. Ace 2 comes with 4 GB of internal memory that can be expandable up to 32 GB with microSD.
It also has stereo FM radio with RDS and support sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity and Compass with A-GPS and GLONASS support and is packed with 1500 mAh battery.
Apart from the above features, Galaxy Mini 2 and Galaxy Ace 2 will run on TouchWiz v3.0 UI, includes bundled software’s like Live Panel UX, Chat ON messenger, Samsung Kies, Samsung Apps, Social Hub, Music Hub and NFC (Near Field Communication) is made optional and will be available only in select territories.
There is no word from Samsung about the price details for both of the devices and is expected to release in Q1 2012.
